CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS ACHIEVED BY WAR "WAR'S CLIMATE CHANGE"

This research paper examines the environmental devastation caused by military actions, specifically identifying weapons of war as significant, yet often overlooked, contributors to the climate change crisis. By analyzing international legal frameworks and utilizing the Martens Clause as a foundational legal basis, the author argues that nations should be held accountable for the ecological harm resulting from military activities. The study proposes a comprehensive compensation system—incorporating both in-kind restitution and monetary aid—to address damages such as species extinction, food scarcity, and health risks, and calls for enhanced international cooperation to establish standards that quantify and remediate these climate impacts.
